Whether it’s a holiday party, football night or just wanting an after dinner drink this Authentic Coquito Recipe is just perfect.
In a pot you will adding water and anise and gently boiling. Boil for 2-3 minutes and let it cool. Once it’s cool you can remove the anise seeds from the water. You may opt to use ground anise in lieu of this step.
Now you will take all of the Authentic Coquito Recipe ingredients, except for the Bacardi, and put them in a blender and blend to mix. If you are making a large amount (doubling ingredients) or if your blender is small you may have to do this in several different batches. I use my Smoothie Smart Blender.
Put everything from the blender into a pitcher and add the Bacardi mixing with a large spoon. Put the pitcher in the refrigerator for a couple hours and then you are ready to serve!!!! Yum! Delicious Authentic Coquito, you’ll love this and so will anyone you decide to share it with. Perfect combination of cream and rich flavors. I love the depth of the anise and the milk and coconut make this so fabulous. You can modify the amount of ingredients for the desired amount of glasses of Coquito you’ll be wanting.

- In a small pot, add water and anise. Gently boil for 2-3 minutes. Let cool completely, remove anise seeds from water. If you prefer you can use ground anise. I like to boil down the anise stars for enhanced flavor.
- In a blender, add all of the ingredients, minus the Bacardi. Blend until mixed well. Depending on the size of your blender or if you are doubling the ingredients, you may have to do this in batches.
- Add mixture to a pitcher. Add in the Bacardi, and with a large spoon, mix. Refrigerate for at least an hour or two before serving.
If you'd like you may change things up from this Traditional Coquito Recipe to make it another flavored Coquito. You may also adapt the amount of Bacardi to your liking.
